Development projects
Our development work contributes to a sustainable society
Hummeltorp participates in solving some of the biggest challenges facing municipalities, public & private companies and our population
We work on projects that enable sustainable development both economically and environmentally – from transport systems that reduce driving times and carbon emissions to leachate treatment.
Below you can read about our development projects.

Hummeltorp Garden
Development of circular soil products
Hummeltorp Garden works with the development and implementation of agricultural and garden products that are organic, circular, climate-smart and sustainable.
The cycle of our planet will be crucial for future generations to have the opportunity to grow food. We believe that restoring and improving the soil so that it becomes fertile, non-toxic and viable in the long term will be of crucial importance for the future.
Hummeltorp Garden works primarily with national projects within agricultural and garden products.
Here are our ongoing development projects:
-
New organic soil products based on circular materials and biochar
-
New viable and fertile soil products that are 100% circular
-
New organic soil products based on hygienized natural manure

Hummeltorp Water
Purification of storm water, leachate and groundwater
Hummeltorp Water works focused on water purification, both nationally and globally. Clean water is already a global problem in different regions. After climate change, clean drinking water is the next big global challenge.
Hummeltorp Water has several international development projects (so-called Joint Ventures) focused on purification of surface water and leachate from contaminated sources as well as purification of already contaminated groundwater using several different technologies.
We also have our own national development projects mostly focused on environmental safety around leachate from different types of waste facilities.
Here are our ongoing development projects:
International development cooperation
-
World-unique filtration and recycling of nitrogen and phosphorus
-
Water treatment of PFAS
-
Groundwater treatment of PFAS in soil
-
Techniques to minimize withdrawal of groundwater
National development projects
-
Leachate-proof systems
-
Recreation of purifying wetlands
-
Tight and closed stormwater systems

Hummeltorp USA
International collaborations
together with ISD The Institute for Sustainable Development, among others, we are building preparedness for handling masses after natural disasters. Right now the focus is on Los Angeles (after the fires) and North Caroline (after Hurricane Helene).
Developing sustainable societies and reducing climate change is a global issue at all levels and crucial for future generations. Our activities are also focused on other international development cooperation with the USA.
That is why we have two offices in the USA – One World Trade Center, New York and Wellington View in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Here are our ongoing development projects:
-
Development of new efficient technology for recovery and extraction of CRM (Critical Raw Materials) from ECM (Excavated Construction Materials) like soil, rocks, gavel, sand etc.
-
Cost-effective & resource-smart treatment of acidifying rock materials
-
Cost-effective technology for recycling of masses from construction and natural disasters
-
Development and implementation of new products that can replace today's aggregate material from quarrying operations and thereby reduce the consumption of non-renewable natural resources

Hummeltorp Evolution
Development of climate-smart solutions
Hummeltorp Evolution works based on the UN's Agenda 2030 goals with the development and implementation of sustainable and climate-smart solutions. Hummeltorp Evolution works primarily with international projects within several sustainability goals. The current Agenda 2030 goals we have focused on so far:

Here are our ongoing development projects:
International projects and collaborations
-
Development of new circular aggregate products that replace non-circular ones
-
Energy recovery
-
Resource recovery in public construction projects
National projects and collaborations
-
Significantly more cost-effective transport solutions
-
Reducing consumption of non-renewable natural resources

Hummeltorp Clean Tech
Development and implementation of environmentally friendly technology
Hummeltorp Clean Tech works with the development and implementation of environmentally friendly and environmentally safe technology, both nationally and globally. Environmentally friendly and environmentally safe technology is crucial to securing our planet's environment and the planet's natural resources for future generations. Hummeltorp Clean Tech has both international and national projects in several areas.
Here are our ongoing development projects:
International projects and collaborations
-
Heat recovery into district heating systems
-
Development and implementation of solar energy
-
Production of Biochar
National projects and collaborations
-
Diversion rate from landfills
-
Recycling rate in to products
-
Composting and biocompost
-
Hygienization / Sanitization (of manure)
-
Environmental safety in mass handling
